We headed Chongoyape, from here continue along a dirt road to this ecological reserve of dry forest conservation.

We will pass through impressive places, enjoying the scenery. Later, we arrive at the Huerta Encantada in Chaparri Private Conservation Area. This reserve covers 34.142 hectares and is considered a sacred mountain (Cerro Chaparri) by the residents of this area of ​​Peru. Here, we will route spectacled bear, the route of the Huachuma or San Pedro and the route of the White-winged Guan. During our journey we will observe diverse flora and endemic birds like Parrot Red Head, Lechucita Peruvian or Paca Paca, Periquito Esmeralda, Nightjar of Thicket, Vencejo of Tumbes, Estrellita Short-tailed, Carpenter Dorso Scarlet Cortarrama Peruvian, Fío-trust Pacific , Cucarachero with Ceja or nightingale, Chat-Tyrant of Tumbes, among many other birds that can only be found here.

Chaparri is home to endangered species such as the Spectacled Bear (Andean Bear), Andean Condor and White-winged Guan, for whom conservacon and reintroduction projects are executed. Likewise also home to coastal foxes, guanacos, wild pigs, deer, mountain lions, king vulture, hummingbirds, reptiles and more. We also visit the rescue center spectacled bears. Here we meet one of its permanent residents, "Cuto" a bear was rescued from a circus, and is now cared for by the park rangers in a natural environment. In this center rehabilitates the bears that have been rescued from illegal captivity, here again learn to fend for themselves, until they can be released to their habitat.

We continue the visit by the Road Huachuma, here we learn about the sessions of shamanism, its meaning and respect for the Apus (mountain spirits), continue and visit the reptario and know different snakes in the area, amphibians, shape of life and their characteristics. Finally we walk the visitor center, which explains in detail the biodiversity of the area, and how to protect the value of this wonderful ecosystem in the dry forest. After our visit to this northern paradise, we take a detour and reached Tinajones Reservoir, which feeds water to Lambayeque. In addition to enjoying the scenery, we can also observe birds such as eagles, herons and others. We return to Chiclayo.
